(WB) Advocacy groups in battleground states have pulled out all the stops in their efforts to encourage members of the LGBT community to vote.

Monday, Oct. 19 marks the first day of early voting — even so, more than 2.5 million Floridians have already cast their vote by turning in their ballots by mail, according to the Florida Division of Elections.

(SS) Early in-person voting began Monday with steady streams of voters in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says the state's voter ID law "remains in effect" despite a federal appeals court ruling that it violates the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Desmond Meade and Neil Volz are counting down the days to Aug. 18 — it’s the midterm election, and it will be the first time both men have been allowed to vote in decades.

UPDATE 10/12/16: The US District Court ruled for a week extension on Florida's registration deadline. This came after the Florida Democratic Party sued, requesting an additional week because of the burdens of Hurricane Matthew's destruction.

You may not be able to do anything about the U.S. Senate ratifying a justice that is going to set back civil rights by a century, but you can cast a ballot against some of the judges Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis have appointed to the bench in Florida.

(WB) Hundreds tuned in live on Thursday evening to watch Drag Out the Vote’s latest event to encourage LGBT people across the country to vote in upcoming elections.

(SS) A slew of voter intimidation emails sent to the University of Florida students on Tuesday has officials scrambling to figure out who actually sent them.

Although Walmart’s proposed Oakland Park Supercenter had a majority of votes in favor, the city’s charter kept officials from approving it.

There are an estimated nine million LGBT people registered to vote Nov. 3, maybe more, according to a study by the Williams Institute, an LGBT think tank at UCLA.
