Four years ago I would not have written this review. Four years ago I would have never considered giving coverage to a porn star. It was, quite frankly; too taboo a place to go in my book.
“My story is that typical narrative of a Midwestern boy who comes out of the closet—or doesn’t come out—in his hometown and then leaves,” explained playwright Michael Patrick Spillers, who grew up in the Ozark mountains of southwest Missouri.
When described as “prolific,” affable local playwright and producer Ronnie Larsen recoiled just a bit: “What else am I going to do?” he retorted. “This is my job … who I am.”
