(WB) Nearly two dozen companies in North America have agreed to mentor LGBT refugees as part of a new initiative announced on Tuesday.

(CNN) -- On October 1, the clock restarts on the United States' annual admission of refugees. The U.S. refugee program's goal is to resettle 75,000 refugees in America during the 2016 Fiscal Year. President Barack Obama announced earlier this month that of that 75,000, 10,000 slots would be set-aside specifically for Syrians.

In a mix of local government action and state-mandated requirements, two city fees are changing: the residential rental fee has been increased from $20 to $50 and the permits for hardwired alarms have decreased from $55 to $40.
