Swimmer Doesn’t Dance Long
Long distance swimmer Diana Nyad was one of the first participants eliminated from season 18 of “Dancing with the Stars.” Last year, Nyad, 64, became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without the assistance of a shark cage. She is a lesbian and for the show’s season 18 premiere, Nyad danced a foxtrot with her professional partner, Henry Byalikov. While she showed no fear in the water, Nyad told TVGuide.com her televised dance routines left her “mortified.” “Dancing with the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
