There’s a new health crisis putting LGBT people at risk: Monkeypox.

Between Instagram, Tik-Toks, and regular old TV, different body types are celebrated now more than ever. But outward appearances are still over-emphasized, and not nearly enough care is given to the rest of ourselves. The old cliche is true: it’s what’s on the inside that counts. 

Being attracted to both men and women doesn't necessarily mean that a person will have more sexual partners. But bisexual individuals, especially males, are facing higher risk for sexually transmitted disease than in the past.

After hearing testimony from the trans community, the Florida Board of Medicine voted Friday to create standards of gender-affirming care for trans youth, prompted by the Department of Health’s petition to not allow any treatment until adulthood and for adult patients to have a 24-hour waiting period.

Despite a record number of LGBT athletes at the Beijing Winter Olympics, it is the broadcasting network's choice of whether to specifically talk about these athletes being a member of the LGBT community. 

It’s been over a month since the first monkeypox case was diagnosed in Florida.

HIV is now a manageable disease that can be kept in check with medicine. But people living with HIV are at a higher-than-normal risk of having other illnesses. One of the comorbidities linked with is cardiovascular disease.
