    (WB) LGBT activists were among those attending a ceremony at the D.C. Council chamber on Tuesday commemorating a resolution the Council passed earlier this month recognizing Dec. 17 as the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.

    The Williams Institute has produced a report about HIV criminalization in Florida. HIV criminalization occurs when a person’s HIV status determines whether behavior is criminal. 

  • LGBT Advocates Join Fight for Sex Workers’ Rights at Sexual Freedom Summit

    (WB) D.C. Council member David Grosso (I-At-Large) and lesbian rights advocates Kate Kendall of San Francisco and Nadine Smith of Florida expressed support for the nationwide effort to decriminalize sex work among consenting adults at the 10th annual Sexual Freedom Summit held Aug. 15-18 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Hotel in Alexandria, Va. 

  • No Vote Planned For DC Sex Work Decriminalization Bill

    (WB) Less than one week after about 160 witnesses testified for and against a controversial bill to decriminalize sex work between consenting adults in the D.C., the chair of a D.C. Council Committee in charge of the bill said the committee has no immediate plans to take further action on the bill.
