    By now all of you have seen, heard, read or otherwise know about New York City Pride / Stonewall 50, the events celebrating the 50thanniversary of the Stonewall uprising. You also know about World Pride (June 26-30), held for the first time in the U.S. simultaneously with Stonewall 50. Millions of lesbians, gay males, bisexuals, trans and queer people and our heterosexual allies gathered in New York to remember, observe and celebrate.

    In just a few days we will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Stonewall riots — a defining moment in history in which LGBT people took to the streets to protest oppression and injustice at the hands of the police and the larger reality of inequality they were forced to live every single day. 

  • The World Celebrates Pride and Stonewall50 in New York City

    Rainbows adorned faces, flags, storefronts and subway trains Sunday morning as what felt like everyone in the city flocked to 26thStreet and 5thAvenue in NYC to line the streets and get ready for the Pride March — held 50 years after the first brick was thrown at the Stonewall riots.

    Virgin Atlantic recently announced they will offer a “Pride Flight” next year that will be staffed entirely by LGBT people.
