Uganda is the subject of a new documentary presented by the Vice news organization. Released over the weekend on HBO, the video documents struggles sexual minorities face in the east African country of Uganda. Vice journalists interviewed Uganda lawmaker David Bahati, who stated homosexuals should “abandon” their way of life. Also included in the documentary were clips of American activist Scott Lively, U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) and disturbing statements from Uganda men who expressed a willingness to rape lesbians. “Exporting Hate,” the documentary aired in a sneak preview format on last Friday’s weekly Vice on HBO program.
Black Justice Org. Condemns Missouri Ruling
The National Black Justice Coalition has come out strongly against criminalization efforts of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Responding to the sentencing of a Missouri man, the NBJC stated, “These horrific laws place the burden of disclosing ones HIV status solely on the shoulders of those who are living with this treatable condition. Yet we know that sexual relations between two consenting adults are not a one-way interaction.” NBJC Executive Director and CEO Sharon Lettman-Hicks said the organization is deeply saddened, angered and frustrated by the guilty verdict of Michael L. Johnson, a young gay black male who is HIV positive.

Fischer, said leaks had been fixed and trash cleared at Keller’s property. Keller, meanwhile, enjoyed a few moments with friends following Friday evening’s Shabbat Shalom ceremony at Etz Chaim Synagogue, relaying stories of her time working past Pride events in Fort Lauderdale, where she owned the Westsider restaurant next to Tacky’s in Davie.
