Matt Healy, the lead singer of the band, The 1975, was playing in Dubai when he kissed a male audience member in the front row.
Healy was protesting the United Emirates’s anti-gay law, which makes homosexuality punishable by imprisonment, according to CNN Philippines. After the kiss, Healy returned to the stage and said “I love you, bro. We’re all human right?”
"Thank you Dubai you were so amazing. I don't think we'll be allowed back due to my 'behaviour' but know that I love you and I wouldn't have done anything differently given the chance again,” Healy posted to Twitter following the concert. “But who knows maybe they will let me back in let's just wait and see.”
Healy also cried during the show, telling the audience members he knows what they’re going through, and that he wants everyone to identify as human.
