He thought he was going to die, but he didn’t. Instead, three drag queens came to his rescue.

New Zealand’s Ivan Flinn was attacked in Sydney by a group of men who approached him and began calling him a “fucking faggot” and a “queer cunt” without provocation.

Flinn told News.com.au he requested the men not to “use the word faggot, especially not on Oxford Street.”

The men attacked Flinn, dislocating his jaw and tearing his clothes. That’s when Coco Jumbo, Ivy league and Vybe entered the scene to save Flinn.

“I really thought I was going to die – I was praying for a hero and I got three angels,” he said. “After the punch I was stunned, but the next thing I knew Ivy went in and was scrapping with the guy who punched me.”

“They’re in the middle of the road, cars swerving around them, tooting, and I saw the guy rip her wig off. They were bashing each other and she’s still wearing her high heels.”

Ivy League told the publication he was bullied as a child and wasn’t going to let that happen to anyone else.

“Growing up gay, I’ve been picked on and bullied and there comes a time when you fight back and you don’t care if you’ll get hurt or what happens to your wig,” said Ivy League, known also as Luke Karakia. “Those boys shit themselves, they weren’t ready for some drag queens on top of them.”

According to Krakia, the group of bashers called the queens “freaks.” In response, Karakia said: “‘You want to pick on little guys, you’ll need to fight the big freak. I’m a man underneath all of this, so let’s go.’”

Coco Jumbo also got involved. “A guy pushed Ivy so I picked him up and threw him into the gutter,” she said. “I don’t think they knew what they were getting themselves into. I used to play rugby league. Plus, I have an older brother.”

Coco Jumbo, also known as Luke Waqa, had this last piece of advice: “Don’t mess with gay people – let alone two men dressed as women. Silly boys.”

Karakia poked fun at the attackers, saying the “big burly guys couldn’t even throw a punch, all they could do was pull hair and run. I may be gay, but I’m a man — and if you hit me, I’ll hit you back.”

Flinn is currently fundraising money to replace the queens’ nails and wigs, raising $9000 at the time of publication and far surpassing his $1,000 goal.
