According to the Florida Department of Health at least 10 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Wilton Manors.
As of Sunday 217 have tested positive in Broward County. “Wilton Manors continues to be diligent in pursuing all educational, mitigation, and enforcement mechanisms to ensure the health and safety of residents, business owners and stakeholders during this crisis,” said Julie Carson, a Wilton Manors City Commissioner.
“Even though City Hall is closed to the public, city administration, staff and elected Commissioners are working tirelessly to field questions, solve problems, and collaborate with county, state and federal governments to determine a path forward that ensures public health and the financial well being of the Island City.”
In comparison there have been 46 cases in Fort Lauderdale, and 7 in Oakland Park. Meanwhile there are 1,007 confirmed cases in Florida, more than 40,000 in the U.S. and more than 360,000 globally. So far there have been 14 deaths in Florida, 472 in the U.S. and more than 15,000 globally.
On Sunday Broward County signed an emergency order shutting down all retail and commercial busineseses in the county in order to slow down the spread of the virus.
