The fourth annual Flame Con comes to New York City in August. This two-day convention highlights writers, art performers, and entertainers from every corner of the LGBT world. The convention features panels, exclusive performances, movie screenings, cosplay, drag performances, and more.
Michelle Rose Micor, the PR administrator of Geeks OUT, who sponsors the convention, states that the gathering brings together the best of diversity and creativity in today’s LGBT culture. Geeks OUT was created as a nonprofit organization to rally, empower, and promote the queer/geek community.
Artists and entertainers scheduled to be in attendance are: Erin Nations (Gumballs), Dan Parent (Archie), Kevin Wada (Iceman), James Tynion (Batman), Magdalene Visaggio (Eternity Girls), Steve Orlando (Supergirl, Midnighter), Kris Anka (X-Men), and Brittney Williams (Patsy Walker). Also in attendance will be actor Kaitlyn Alexander and Shadi Petosky, producer and creator of Amazon’s Danger and Eggs.
Flame Con will be held Aug. 18-19 in New York City at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel. Tickets run from $25 to $65 and can be obtained at www.flamecon.org.
