As part of an ongoing effort to rev up the downtown business district, Oakland Park Main Street is gearing up for its First Classic Car Show on Sunday, February 28 along NE 12 Avenue on the north side of Oakland Park Boulevard.

Oakland Park Main Street Executive Director Siegi Constantine said this year, the Classic Car Show event will feature German models and run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“This will be an exciting event and fun for everyone who enjoys these fine vintage automobiles,” Constantine said. “Owners of cars such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen and others are invited to display their prized vehicles.”

Car clubs throughout Florida have been contacted and their members invited to participate. Each car will be judged based on AACA (American Antique Car Association) standards, which include exterior, interior, trunk, engine and undercarriage.

Pre-registration for show cars is $20, Used Parts pre-registration is $30 and New Parts Vendors pre-registration is $40. To download a registration form, visit Oaklandparkmainstreet.com

The Days Inn on Oakland Park Boulevard & I-95 will serve as the Host Hotel and offer a special show rate for participants and visitors. Phone 954-484-9290 or visit Daysinnftl.com for reservation information.

Proceeds benefit Oakland Park Main Street and the Oakland Park Historical Society. Oakland Park Main Street, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to building a strong economic environment within Oakland Park’s downtown commercial center in partnership with the local business community, property owners, residents, and the City government.
