A man was shot and killed in Oakland Park Monday during a domestic dispute, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The deceased and the alleged shooter’s names have not been released.
The agency shared that it received a call Monday morning about a shooting at the 4400 block of Northwest 19th Avenue in Oakland Park. When deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived at the home, a man was found with a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.
A woman was at the scene as well; she was taken to another hospital to be evaluated. BSO says that “some sort of altercation occurred,” leading to the shooting. The deceased man has a history of domestic violence, according to law enforcement.
Homicide detectives are investigating the case to present to later present to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office.
