Issa Rae had some people on social media negatively respond to a new show she’s working on.
Rae, the creator of HBO show "Insecure," had some Instagram users call her new show "Him or Her" an unwelcome representation of black males, according to NewNowNext. The show, which she is working on with "Daily Show" writer Tavon Free, centers around Free’s experiences with being a black bisexual male.
“I remember just being pissed all day,” she said to Deadline. “Sometimes you live in a bubble, you live in a liberal bubble where you think that everyone is open, and in my eyes progressive in a way where there are so many human experiences, black experiences, gender experiences.”
Rae will serve as the executive producer on the show, which is still being produced.
