Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival presents ‘August’

Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival

Monthly movie series continues with a romantic drama on June 13

Two men meet again after having broken up years before. As their passions reignite and current relationships find themselves in the crosshairs, the plot of August thickens.

The film, directed by Eldar Rapaport, will be shown on Wednesday, June 13, at the Gateway Theater. Tickets range from $9 to $12, depending on membership. The movie is an installment of the Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival’s monthly Gays and Lesbians on Wednesdays (GLOW) series. The monthly selection is based on films that keep the LGBT community in mind whether in subject or message.

“Tonally and texturally, (director) Rapaport conveys myriad layers of truth, trust, love and lust…” Wrote Dennis Harvey of Variety Magazine about the film. “A strong but subtle directorial hand.”

If you miss this showing of the movie, you’ll be able to catch it again in July, August and September.
