This past week, Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare” game show featured two families, one of which was a family made up of two fathers and two sons. The family became a first for the popular show.
Nickelodeon revived “Double Dare” earlier this year for its third season. The game features a variety of challenges, including trivia, obstacle courses, and lots of messy slime.
Same-sex parents had not appeared on this show up to this point.
This year Nickelodeon also featured an interracial, same-sex couple on “The Loud House.” In the past the channel has featured same-sex characters on shows such as “Hey Arnold!,” “Rugrats”,” and even “SpongeBob SquarePants.”
The Host explained at the end of the show, “Double Dads and double sons on Double dare, I love that! I love that!”
