UFC’s First Openly Gay Champion to Compete in First Women’s ‘Superfight’

This lesbian badass’s mixed martial arts “superfight” hits Las Vegas at the end of the year.

Bantamweight Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes, UFC’s first openly gay champion, will take on Featherweight champion Chris “Cyborg” Justino on Dec. 29.

Nunes won the UFC’s bantamweight title in 2016, taking it from Miesha Tate and defending it from Ronda Rousey ever since.

Iconically, after defending her title, Nunes ran over to and kissed her partner Nina Ansaroff on pay-per-view television.

This year, Nunes and her partner — who is also a UFC fighter — took to Instagram to announce their engagement on Aug 18.
