Touted by critics as the next Lady Gaga, Ke$ha has a smash hit single (her song “Tik Tok” just broke the record for most downloads in a single week by a female artist) and an announcement – she’s bisexual.

Ke$ha talked to Out Magazine about her new album Animal, which she says means doing exactly what -- and who -- you please, be it music or partying, boys or girls.

Senator Chris Dodd Not Seeking Re-Election

Several top Democratic lawmakers, including marriage equality supporter and Connecticut senator Christopher J. Dodd, will not be on the ballot come November.

Conservative anti-gay activist Dave Wilson will be on the March 2 primary ballot for Harris County Precinct 4 commissioner as a Democrat.  Wilson — who once hosted a fund-raiser for Republican incumbent Jerry Eversole — believes Eversole will resign his seat as a result of a corruption investigation by the FBI, and he wants voters, not the county Republican Party or county judge, to pick his successor.

Police have apprehended suspects in a pair of hate crimes that targeted gay men. The assaults took place in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Buffalo, New York.

Request to Televise Proposition 8 Trial

We have to agree with the Courage Campaign on this one. This historic trial about Prop 8, which banned gay marriage in California, should be televised. From the organization's e-mail alert today:

U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker -- who will be overseeing a federal court challenge to Prop 8 starting this Monday (January 11) -- is considering whether or not to open the court room to TV cameras.
