LGBT Democrats and their allies are arriving in Fort Lauderdale Beach this weekend for summer meetings.
U.S. Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D-New York) is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at Saturday night’s gala dinner. Maloney, 49, became the second member of Congress to marry a same-sex spouse when he and husband Randy Florke wed in 2014. The couple has three children.
Before he was elected to Congress, Maloney served as White House staff secretary in President Bill Clinton’s administration.
The Bahia Mar, 801 Seabreeze Blvd., is hosting this weekend’s proceedings. Florida’s LGBTA Caucus is officially chartered by the Florida Democratic Party. Other announced attendees include Hillary for America campaign manager Robby Mook and DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
