Former U.S. representative and failed 2012 GOP presidential hopeful returned to the airwaves to warn the faithful that America may be getting some Old Testament style divine retribution for its dangerous stance on marriage equality and reproductive rights.
Speaking with end times evangelical radio personality Jan Markell, Bachmann warned that President Barack Obama's "dangerous policies" may incur God's wrath on America.
"When we raise our fist to a holy God and say that we are going to redefine marriage, we are going to be okay with paying a Planned Parenthood to cut up innocent baby parts and sell them for research, that clearly is a problem and as we have seen God render judgment in the days of Noah, in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah and so forth throughout history," Bachmann said. "What the prophets have told every generation is that there is a just God and the people must repent and turn to him. So too in this day of wickedness in our own culture, we need to do the same. We need to repent and we need to confess because a holy Savior is coming to save us and redeem us from this sin-sick world."
If any of this gives you the feeling of deja vu, you're not alone.
In April, it was reported that Bachmann, speaking again on Markell's program, claimed that President Obama's stance on same-sex marriage and Iran would bring on the rapture.
When Markell added that divine punishment on America was also being brought on by legal abortion and marriage equality for gays and lesbians, Bachmann said "you are right." According to the former representative from Minnesota, God will soon lift his "hedge of protection" over "pagan" America "and we will suffer the consequences as a result."
"Michele Bachmann predicted I would bring about the biblical end of days," Obama quipped from the podium at this year's White House Correspondents Dinner. "Now that's big. ... Lincoln, Washington - they didn't do that."
