The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards included an unprecedented number of wins for out LGBT artists including Brandi Carlile and Lil’ Nas who took the world by storm this year with his massive hit “Old Town Road.” 

Out Artist Brittany Howard, known for her howling soul power-house voice from Alabama Shakes joined LGBT ally and host Alicia Keys for a moving performance. Howard is also a 2020 GLAAD Media Award nominee.

Out Actor Ben Platt who starred in this year’s Netflix hit The Politician” introduced Ariana Grande’s performance and went on to sing a tribute to musical education in schools.

DJ Tracy Young became the first lesbian to win in the “Best Remixed Recording” for her track I Rise (Tracy young’s Pride Intro Radio Mix), a remix of Madonna’s I Rise.” Tyler, The Creator, picked up a win for Best Rap Album for Igor.
