Friday, 7/29 - Theater

The award-winning GableStage, 1200 Anastasia Ave. in Coral Gables, presents “Stalking the Bogeyman,” a powerful thriller based on a true story that aired on NPR’s “This American Life,” through Aug. 28. The play explores journalist David Holthouse’s secret pursuit of justice for a 25-year-old crime and reveals the dangers of vengeance and the power of forgiveness. Saturday, 7/30 - Dance

You can admit it: “Bring It!” on Lifetime is one of the guilty pleasures of reality television. Miss D. and her Dancing Dolls from Jackson, Miss. will “Bring It! Live” to the stage of the Broward Center tonight at 8 p.m. for one performance only. The live show features the hot routines, high kicks and sassy stand battles that have taken the young dance troupe to the top. Tickets start at $29.75 at BrowardCenter.org.


Sunday, 7/31 - Theater

Don’t miss Jonathan Tolins’ brilliant comedy, “Buyer & Cellar,” playing through Aug. 7 at Actors’ Playhouse, 280 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. Chris Crawford plays an out-of-work actor who takes a job minding the store in the vintage shopping mall constructed in the basement of Barbra Streisand’s Malibu complex. Monday, 8/1 - Nightlife

Head down to Georgie’s Alibi/Monkey Bar in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors to kick off your week with comedy and cabaret. Celebrity impersonator Michael Walters takes the stage in the Manchester Room as South Florida’s own Dame Edna from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Then, the music moves to the main stage for Jennifer McClain’s Cast Party, featuring your favorite show tunes and more. Tuesday, 8/2 - Film

The best way to beat the summer heat is to escape to the cineplex. This weekend, the comedy “Bad Moms” opens in theaters or you could check out the original “bad mom,” Eddy and her pal, Patsy, in the big screen adaptation of the British sitcom, “Absolutely Fabulous.” Handsome Matt Damon also returns to the big screen in his latest action flick, “Jason Bourne.” Check local listings for theaters and show times.
