Tonight at 7 p.m. the picturesque Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, 900 Birch Road on Fort Lauderdale Beach, hosts another Concert Under the Stars performance. Sip on a glass of wine, sample scrumptious desserts and stroll the carefully landscaped grounds of the historic property as young artists from the University of Miami Frost School of Music opera theatre serenade guests with the most beloved arias of the repertoire. How would you describe comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer in one word? Candid. She’s refreshingly candid, disturbingly candid and oh-my-god-she-just-said-that candid. For 20 years, the brazen lesbian comic has been traveling the world and tonight at 8 p.m. she arrives at the Sunshine Cathedral, 1480 SW 9th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Florida Grand Opera offers a fresh take on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved opera, “Cosi fan Tutte,” opening tonight at the Arsht Center in Miami. The story of two young soldiers who conceal their identities to test their lovers’ fidelity gets updated in a new production set in Monte Carlo. See this production at the Arsht Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 24-25; Tuesday, Jan. 27; and Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30-31. The opera transfers to Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center, Thursday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 14. Tickets start at $12 at FGO.org.

This weekend, GableStage, 1200 Anastasia Ave. (The Biltmore Hotel) in Coral Gables, opens “Choirboy” by openly gay playwright and Miami native Tarell Alvin McCraney. When a young man is named leader of the celebrated gospel choir at the Charles R. Drew Prep School for African-American Boys, the sweet harmonies of classical spirituals contrast with the bristling tensions that arise. “Choirboy” is a music-filled story of masculinity, tradition, coming of age and speaking your truth. Convivencia Miami, the four-month cultural festival celebrating the medieval period in Iberia in which Christians, Muslims and Jews lived in harmony, continues tonight with a free lecture at the Betsy Hotel, 1440 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.
