There’s more to the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (MGLFF) than movies. The festival also is one of the most popular social events of the year. This year’s festival is no exception and, as MGLFF enters its final weekend, there are still opportunities to mix and mingle with filmmakers and aficionados alike.

The Center Piece Reception will be held tonight, Wednesday, April 27 from 9 – 11 p.m., in the Red Room of the Shore Club, 1901 Collins Ave. in South Beach. You won’t want to miss this swanky event as industry professionals join film fans for an evening of cocktails and conversation.

Hold on to those ticket stubs and enjoy 2-4-1 drinks throughout the festival at the official MGLFF film lounge, Bar 721, 721 Lincoln Lane. Discuss your favorite films over cocktails at this hip hangout. Festival badge holders will enjoy specialty drinks.

The festival wraps up on Sunday, May 1 with the official Closing Party at De Rodriguez Cuba at the Hilton Bentley, 101 Ocean Dr. in South Beach. Chef Doug Rodriguez will be on hand as all celebrate the end of a successful festival and anticipation builds for 2012.
