Actors Playhouse will have a pre-show reception from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 and will include admission to the play See Jane Run! plus a drink voucher and free hors d’oeuvres. The drink voucher must be redeemed before 7:30 p.m. when the house opens to the general public. Bullying Seminar at Barry University on July 22

On Friday July 22, 2011, Safe Schools South Florida will have a seminar facilitated by trainer De Palazzo. They will focus on the definition and dynamics of relational aggression such as rumor spreading, compulsive, hurtful texting, cyber-bullying, social group exclusion and emotional harassment by and toward young women. The goal is to assist in developing multi-track solutions for helping young women to practice strength-based and resilient attitudes and behaviors. The seminar will take place at Barry University’s R. Kirk Landon Student Union Events Room 110, and there will be ample parking at the parking lot south of Landon Student Union. 4th Annual Summerfest, July 22 to 24, in Miami Beach

The 4th Annual Summerfest benefitting the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force will have 5 events throughout the July 22 weekend. It is being touted as Miami Beach’s only gay weekend event of the summer. There will be international DJs, pool parties, T-Dances, and more. The host hotel is the Short Club. Sexuality and Spirituality discussion at Miami Mens Mpowerment Project on July 24

Miami Mens Mpowerment, a social group for black and latino gay and bisexual men age 16-30, will have an afternoon of healthy conversations about sexuality and spirituality Sunday, July 24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. located at 8317 NW 22nd Avenue, Miami. Miami Mollys go bowling at Bird Bowl Thursday, July 28

The lesbian social group Miami Movie Molleys is going bowling at Bird Bowl Thursday, July 28 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Everyone should show up around 7:30 p.m. so that teams can be set up. Additionally, Thursday nights are ladies nights - so ladies bowl for free! However, bring money for shoes and food/drinks. Bird Bowl does have a restaurant and has great specials on beer and pub food. The establishment also features 16 pool tables, a video arcade, and the Lounge. Parking is free. Popular Wynwood eatery to open a second location in Miami Beach in August

One of Miami’s favorite spots for brunch and chill-out moments is opening a second location at the former Joe Allen on Purdy Avenue in South Beach. According to Morgans owner Barclay Graebner, the target opening date is August 1.

Book-Share and Happy Hour August 3 in Miami

Miami Movie Molleys, a Lesbian social group, will meet on the back patio for a happy hour at Moonchine Asian Bistro on Wednesday, August 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The theme is to bring a book or movie they could lend or give away. Put the name and phone number or email address on it, and then trade or give the book to someone else. This will prove to be a great time to meet new people, catch up with friends and get good deals on food and drinks. Hispanic Pride October 1st in Miami Beach

On Saturday, October 1st, the Hispanic LGBT community will, for the first time, host their own Pride event, Celebrate Orgullo, in Lummus Park, Ocean Drive between 10th and 11th Streets, from noon to 6 p.m. “Orgullo” means pride and the event is designed to showcase the cultural contributions of the Hispanic LGBT community to Miami Beach.  The event will feature music, dance, refreshments, vendor booths and more. Free and open to the public.
