Well Pride was a blast, wasn’t it? Hope you had as much fun as I did, and if you drank as much, come join me in walking it off at Florida’s AIDS Walk on March 20. It begins in Downtown Fort Lauderdale at the Huizenga Plaza, walking east along the beach and then back again. Join me bright and early at 8 a.m. for registry. This is a great cause and as a community that is greatly affected by HIV and AIDS it is up to us to dig our heels it and walk towards a better future. Anyone can walk, regardless of sexuality or age, so bring your friends and family out for the stroll.
On March 22, the Miramar Cultural center presents the critically acclaimed opera, Madama Butterfly. If you have not seen this masterpiece now would be the time to go! The aria focuses on Butterfly’s unconditional love for her husband, shunning her ancient religion and family for him. The opera was conceived by Giacomo Puccini, first staged in 1904, and has enthralled the world for over a century.
