Hold on to your hats, ladies, because Miss Finesse is in the house and she plans to work her magic on you to help the less fortunate in South Florida.

Miss Finesse, the alter-ego of Hollywood hairstylist Mario Betto, will be headlining Love is in the Hair, fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 12, at the Hollywood Arts and Cultural Art Gallery, 1650 Harrison, under the auspices of Hairstylists for Humanity, the non-profit group Betto helped found in 2003.

“We originally were founded to provide free makeovers for people in our community who were in need,” Betto explains. “But over the years, our mission has expanded and we now provide scholarships to deserving people to become nail specialists, facial specialists and cosmetologists at Sheridan Technical School.”

DATE: Friday, Feb. 12

LOCATION: Hollywood Arts and Cultural Art Gallery

1650 Harrison,

Time: 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm

The fundraiser, which runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., will include a fashion show from designer Maggie Steen of Diva Gone Dharma. The show will include the unveiling of a new collection, The Unveiling. According to Betto, the show will include 11 models and will be completely choreographed.

The evening will also include wine tastings from Hollywood Vine, performances by New World fusion band PHIsonica, and a silent auction.

“What drag queen doesn’t like fashion?” Betto asks, channeling Miss Finesse, who will sing live throughout the evening.

As for Miss Finesse, she says, “Sweeties, what better way to kick off Valentine’s Day weekend than being surrounded by art, fashion, wine, live music and a stunning larger than life female illusionist?”

She adds, “I’ve put together a fabulous evening of fashion and songs from my cabaret revue ranging from Broadway to pop. Oh, and did I mention, there’s no lip syncing from this diva, she’ll be singing live. So honeys, pull out your Pradas, your glam couture and some seriously fierce hair and join us for Love Is In The Hair.”
