We all know that Valentine’s Day means big bucks for greeting card companies, florists and chocolatiers, but with the holiday falling on a weekend, South Florida’s bars, nightclubs and restaurants are also gearing up. Whether you’ll be celebrating with that special loved one—or looking to meet one—this will be a big weekend. Here are a few highlights:

Epic Nightclub in The Manor Complex, 2345 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors, kicks off the Valentine’s Day weekend on Friday with a performance by former “American Idol” finalist Frenchie Davis and on Sunday, legendary DJ Manny Lehman spins for a special holiday event following the club’s Studio 54 tea dance.

If you are looking for cupid, you may not find him, but Johnny’s, 1116 West Broward Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale, will be hosting the next best thing, Falcon Studios star T.J. Hawke in the flesh, making his first South Florida appearance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

And, while cupid might be considered a “twink,” Raging Stallion Studios star Colin Steele is anything but twinkish. This hunk will be making a return appearance on Saturday at The Stable, 205 E. Oakland Park Blvd. in Oakland Park.

Meet your mate on Saturday at Miami Beach’s score. DJ Brett Henrichsen will be in the booth and everyone will play “Doctor Love” with color-coded necklaces to help break the ice. Green means you’re ready to go, yellow just looking for a meet-and-greet, and red, just up for mingling. Michael Stanley is your host.

Latin lovers are steamy and there will be plenty on hand as Sugar, 2301 SW 32 Ave. in Miami, introduces Noche de Cabaret, a new weekly drag show on Sundays. Marytrini and her “Divas of the Jacuzzi” take the stage for an outrageous night of gender-bending entertainment. Doors open at 10 p.m.

Can’t wait until the weekend? Intoxiskate, the Tuesday gay night at Gold Coast Roller Rink, never disappoints and on Tuesday, Feb. 9, will host the Elite Underwear Party from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. with DJ Misha and an underwear fashion show at 11 p.m. $5 admission and $2 skate rental. The rink is located at 2604 S. Federal Hwy. in Fort Lauderdale.

Hollywood now has a gay beach bar, Stonewall, on the boardwalk, and on Wednesdays you can enjoy all the tacos you can eat for $5 with a drink purchase, $2.50 margaritas and $3 sangria. Make sure to check out their bistro menu for a relaxing lunch or dinner on the beach.

If country is your thing, then Thursday nights are big at Scandals Saloon, 3073 NE 6th Ave. in Wilton Manors. The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. with a cash pool tournament and dance lessons from Lee Fox. Hang around until 11 p.m. for The Coffee Klutch Boys with bartender Terry and make a night of it.
