Cloud 9 by Caryl Churchill

At the Boca Raton Campus of Florida Atlantic University on Sept. 23 through Oct. 2 the winner of multiple awards, Cloud 9 had a long run Off-Broadway to rave reviews. It’s a biting, witty, satirical farce set in Victorian Africa and 1980s London. It riotously examines a cornucopia of sexual mores -- from heterosexual adultery to bisexual incest -- in a circus of carnal confusion and topsy-turvy theatrics. The Brundibár Experience

Ms. Weissberger will speak about her experiences as a young Jewish girl coming of age in 1940’s Czechoslovakia as a prisoner in the Terezin concentration camp, Hitler’s “Model Ghetto.” Ela was chosen to play the role of the cat in Hans Krása’s children’s opera, Brundibár, performed over fifty times by the children of Terezin.
