SOS Children’s Villages Florida, a foster care community in Broward County, will share a “Tale of Two Dads” to commemorate the true meaning of family for Father’s Day with a heartwarming story of love and fatherhood.
The event takes place Thursday, June 18 from 12 to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom.
The event will feature Eryc Allen, his husband and their four children.
According to the press release, “You will have an extraordinary glimpse into the lives of a family who has made the transition from foster care to a unit of a lifetime of love and support. You will hear from the kids and their dads on how this union has brought unparalleled happiness to their lives.”
Allen, who works for SOS, grew up in foster care. His experience with foster care led him to want a family of his own.
While working for SOS Allen met four siblings and fell in love with them. He and his husband decided to adopt all four – daughters Kamaria, 13 and Keila, 8 and sons Keir, 12 and Jerrick, 9.
“Raising our children has opened an entirely new aspect of life for us,” Allen said in a press release. “We move differently to ensure we are a true example of what a parent should be.”
