Angelou is not only a famous poet, author and playwright, but she was also an important advocate of Civil and LGBT rights.
She died Wednesday at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the age of 86. According to the Washington Post, Angelou had been battling health issues and heart problems for years.
The funeral has not yet been announced, and it is unclear if it will be open to the public, according to the Washington Post.
This isn’t the first time Westboro has raised controversy with their pickets and probably won’t be the last.
