A Palm Beach County councilman is marrying his partner on Wednesday at the Florida Capitol.
Haverhill town councilman Daniel Sohn, who is bisexual, is set to wed his partner, Kaitik Chan, in an afternoon ceremony in Tallahassee.
Florida House Representative Carlos G. Smith is officiating the proceedings.
“Our wedding will be Florida’s first LGBT+ wedding in the Florida Capitol,” Sohn posted on Facebook.
Daniel Sohn was elected to the Town of Haverhill with more than 60 percent of the vote in 2018. He became the first LGBT elected council member in Haverhill’s history.
He was elected at 27 years old becoming the youngest elected public official in Palm Beach County at the time.
