RuPaul’s DragCon NYC occurred last weekend in New York City, and the Jacob Javits Center was packed with more stunning queens, adoring fans, and absolute fierceness than the massive and legendary event space has probably ever seen at one time!
The three-day convention is the world’s largest event celebrating drag culture, and in 2018, the
convention welcomed nearly 100,000 attendees on both coasts.

At RuPaul’s Drag Con NYC this year, you actually had a chance to get to meet tons of your favorite queens up close and personal. Everyone from Season One favorites Ongina and Tammie Brown to Season Three dolls Manila Luzon and Mariah, to Season 11’s Scarlet Envy and Nina West all meeting fans, taking pictures and sharing plenty of hugs. If you were looking to check out some of the panels available, you could have checked out Comedy Queens (with Nina West, Pandora Boxx, Meatball, Sam Harrison & Hedda Lettuce) or Judgey Judies, where Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Matthews gave us the lowdown on what it’s like to sit on the famed Drag Race judging panel. Queens from Honey Davenport to Trixie Mattel performed on the main stage throughout the weekend, and RuPaul himself sat down for two different and personal chats, one with Whoopi Goldberg and another with Diane Von Furstenberg for one on one intimate conversations. As an added treat, RuPaul himself took a spot behind the decks on the main stage and served up DJ sets on both Saturday and Sunday!
With over 220 vendors available, RuPaul’s DragCon NYC is the spot to grab some of your one of a kind march. Be it World Of Wonder and RuPaul exclusive march, or a t-shirt, makeup palette or fierce hat or t-shirt you may want to pick up to commemorate the even, there was definitely something for everyone to pick up at DragCon!

RuPaul’s DragCon also served as the showcase to make one of the biggest announcements yet about RuPaul’s Drag Race and the mammoth juggernaut it has become in the world of entertainment. RuPaul’s Drag Race-Live! Las Vegas is poised to headline at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. Produced by World Of Wonder, directed by RuPaul and choreographer/filmmaker Jamal Sims and co-produced by Live Nation. It’s scheduled to open January 30 at the Donny & Marie Showroom (a name that will most likely change in November) and will be presented at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday through Sunday; tickets go on sale September 13.
