A Denver man is facing hate-crime charges after allegedly attacking a man he thought was gay, 9News reports.
The Denver District Attorney's office said Sean Boylan knocked down a 32-year-old man after leaving a bar on Sept. 10. The DA office added Boylan thought the victim was gay. According to ABC7, the suspect is accused of breaking the victim's cell phone.
Police charged Boylan with third-degree assault criminal mischief and bias-motivated crime causing injury. Boylan posted his $5,000 bail and is scheduled for a Oct. 19 court appearance.
