Police in Portland, Ore., arrested a man Sunday morning after he apparently tried to scale the side of a building in order to steal a gay pride flag, Oregon Live reports.
Around 10 a.m., police found Daniel Svoboda, 36, climbing the side of a gay bar, Silverado, in Portland. He was about 12-to-14-feet off the ground when authorities arrived at the bar.
Authorities talked Svoboda down from the building and then arrested him on a suspicion of third-degree theft charge and a misdemeanor.
In their investigation, police found that Svoboda climbed up a drainpipe in order to snatch the rainbow flag. According to officers, the suspect seemed "somewhat disoriented." Svoboda received a medical checkup before he was taken to jail.
