All nine South Florida teams sent to this year’s Gay World Series in Kansas City, Missouri continue to advance as of Friday morning.

“All of our teams are putting up a good fight,” said Kenny Silverman, Chairman for the South Florida Armature Athletic Association. “Currently as of noon on Friday, all of our teams are still in the running to win the championship.”

Silverman is in Kansas City sponsoring, coaching, and playing with the Silverman SuperVillians.

“Kansas City is treating our South Florida teams amazing,” Silveman added. 

The local teams competing include: Stampede;Super Villains; Felicias, Riptide; The Coalition; Hot Hitters; Alive and Kicking; Code Blue; and the Silverhawks. 


The World Series is organized through the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance. This year a record breaking 207 teams are competing from 46 cities across North America.

The gay World Series is divded up into multiple divisions based on skill level so there will be a championship winner for each one.  

The championship games will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
