He may be small, be he sure is tough.

Out actor Leslie Jordan, who is 4'11", found himself in the middle of a brouhaha Wednesday around 11 a.m. at a Starbucks in West Hollywood, TMZ reports.

According to police, three young men were waiting in line at the coffee chain on Santa Monica Boulevard, which is in the heart of the LGBT neighborhood, and, according to the Advocate, is known as the "gay Starbucks." The men were talking loudly to each other "about their heterosexual exploits," TMZ writes. The website reports the manager asked the men to leave and one of them allegedly yelled "You will die fucking faggot" as they left.

Jordan, who was at the Starbucks at the time, followed the men out of the restaurant and reportedly started to reprimand them. One of the men allegedly tried to attack the playwright but he doused him with his cold coffee.

L.A. County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene and the three men were handcuffed because they refused to calm down. After they were interviewed, they were released and not arrested because no crime was committed. But an L.A. County Sheriff's official told TMZ the authorities got the names of the men and documented the situation as a "hate incident."

Joseph Daniels, a photographer, witnessed Jordan's coffee-throw, according to local news site Wehoville. Daniels said the 60-year-old actor told the men to "Get out of my house!" after he heard one of the muse the gay slur.

"The guy lunged at Leslie to hit him," Daniels said. "Then Leslie threw his drink at the guy. Then [another] guy threw his drink to hit me."

Jordan has not commented on the incident.
