Florida Representative Shevrin Jones is hosting a Facebook Live with Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Nikki Fried to update Floridians on the coronavirus emergency.
The consumer services update is scheduled for Monday, March 30 at 10 a.m. on Facebook Live.
“We will speak with her on Monday at 10 a.m. on FB Live, so you can hear more about how she is ensuring our children stay fed and food stays in our stores and on your tables,” Jones posted on Facebook. “We will ALL get through this, TOGETHER!”
As of Friday’s noon report, Florida had 2,765 positive test results for COVID-19, 456 hospitalizations and 34 deaths.
Dade County has 744 coronavirus cases followed by Broward (596) and Palm Beach (183).
Jones represents house district 101 in Tallahassee. He is campaigning to become Florida’s first gay black senator.
Fried, a Fort Lauderdale resident and the only Democratic statewide elected official, has asked Governor Ron DeSantis to issue a statewide stay at home order.
During their Facebook Live broadcast the duo are expected to discuss coordination between school districts and food banks to provide meals to children and vulnerable populations and communication with farms and stores to ensure a healthy supply chain.
