(EDGE) Anti-gay hate group leader Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel hit a new low on Monday when he said the first responders at the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando last year were "traumatized" because they had to "get tested for AIDS-related conditions" because of all the blood on the scene. Right Wing Watch reports.

"In regards to the Pulse nightclub," Staver said, "as tragic as it is, some of these officers have no doubt gone through trauma as well because they were going through the Pulse nightclub, it was blood everywhere and, you know, they're having to get tested for AIDS-related conditions because they're literally walking in pools of blood."

Staver's comments came during the daily airing of the right-wing "Faith and Freedom" radio program on Monday. During that broadcast, Staver, and Holly Meade asserted that the attack on the gay nightclub had nothing to do with targeting gay people.
