David Geffen, the gay Hollywood film studio executive, sold his Beverly Hills estate to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos for a reported $165 million.

Geffen, 76, is a notorious member of Hollywood’s “velvet mafia.” He rose to public consciousness by joining into a partnership with Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg to create Dreamworks Studio.

Geffen came out in 1992. He is a powerful money maker for Democratic politicians, hosting fundraisers for former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. His collection of post-war American art is, reportedly, one of the world’s best.

Bezos, 56, burst on the scene with Amazon, a cloud computing and ecommerce multinational corporation. He is often described as the richest man on the planet with a net worth of $150 billion.

In 2013, Bezos bought the Washington Post for a reported $250 million.

The Warner Estate, was originally built by Warner Bros. Studio co-founder Jack Warner. Construction started on three acres of farmland in 1926.
