A Nashville, Tenn. father was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening his lesbian daughter and her girlfriend with a knife, Nashville's Fox 17 reports.

A police affidavit states Ike Wright was intoxicated and became enraged when he found out his daughter is a lesbian. This sparked an argument and resulted in Wright taking out a knife and waving it at his daughter, as well as her girlfriend and his son.

Wright allegedly waved the knife at the victims in "separate threatening actions."

When cops spoke to Wright, they said he was "angry and agitated" and that he "Ranted about his daughter being a lesbian throughout the interaction. He also admitted to having a knife.

Police found the weapon in Wright's kitchen and arrested him for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon,Fox 17 reports.

Chris Sanders, executive director of the Tennessee Equality Project shared the Fox 17 story on the group'sFacebook page, according to The New Civil Rights Movement, and said, "Much work to do in the area of family acceptance in Tennessee."
