Call it either a case of not turning the other cheek or the rats abandoning a sinking ship, but Josh Duggar's in-laws are turning on him -- fast and publicly.
While former reality TV star and disgraced hate group mouthpiece Josh Duggar languishes for the next six months in a faith based rehab program to cure him of his sex addiction, his immediate family is standing by him. His in-laws however, have another tale to tell.
According to In Touch, the publication that first broke the Duggar molestation scandal in May, Josh's sister Jessa Seewald (whom he molested when she was a child), took to social media on August 23 to post a photograph of a biblical scripture that speaks about forgiveness. The post prompted a Duggar fan to defend Josh, which in turn caused his brother in-law Daniel Keller to write the following rant.
"Tell me how you would feel if someone cheated on your sister and brought so much disgrace to you and your family," Keller wrote. "I [am] sick to my stomach for her. .. I told her I would go get her and let her and her children stay with me. She said she's staying where she's at. But I won't stop trying to get that pig out of our family."
Keller isn't the only one of Duggar's in-laws who is "casting the first stone" publicly.
According to People , in a scathing blog post Monday, Jessa's father in-law, Michael Seewald, said he had an "overwhelming desire to vindicate the name of God," and showed little sympathy for Josh.
"It distresses me to say that Josh Duggar's greatest sin is a byproduct of the sum total of his secretly sinful lifestyle. That is, that by his hypocrisy, he blasphemed the name of God. He claimed to be a Christian, but by his deeds he has suggested otherwise. With the name of God on his lips he lived a covert and extensive lifestyle of evil," Seewald wrote. "While proudly saying things like, 'Our family is like the epitome of conservative values,' he was looking at porn and soliciting affairs. He took a job at the Family Research Council that exists to promote the traditional family, all the while undermining his own family by violating his marriage covenant."
"Sadly, he had deceived us all. The name of God has been blasphemed and God is jealous for his name," Seewald concluded.
