Itzhak Perlman, the world-renowned violinist, will entertain audiences with a recital on Feb 28, at 8 p.m. in the Au-Rene Theater of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Perlman is considered to be the reigning virtuoso of the violin, and has received numerous accolades.
He is the recipient of four Emmy and 15 Grammy Awards, and has received the Medal of Liberty, the National Medal of Art, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Kennedy Center Honor. His repertory encompasses everything from baroque to jazz, film scores and klwezmer. At the Au-Rene Theater Perlman will be accompanied by Rohan De Silva on the piano as he performs audience favorites for the South Florida community.
Perlman’s appearance is part of the Broward Center Classical series, which will conclude on March 17 with flautist Sir James Galway.
