On Thursday, Dec. 7, the W Miami hosted artist Sarah Bahbah’s first-ever solo exhibition, from the series “Sex and Takeout,” in celebration of Miami’s Art Basel. The Instagram photographer displayed her 30x30 pieces sky-high on the 50th floor in Whisper Cocktail Lounge, overlooking Biscayne Bay, Downtown Miami and Brickell.
Known for her explicitly-transparent exploration of female voices, Bahbah’s raw storytelling style has developed a cult social following. The photographer’s profile is recognized as one of the most shared Instagram photography pages in the world.
Guests and art world VIPs -- including Bahbah’s closest friends and fashion model / TV personality CoryAnne Roberts -- were spotted taking their Instagram moments with the captioned photography, perusing the colorful collection, sipping cocktails, and dancing to the beats of Miami’s own Ella Romand.
Bahbah told NewNowNext.com that she was teaming up with the W Miami because the hotel was located in the heart of all the Basel action -- "in the electric Brickell neighborhood."
"They’re the perfect brand partner to debut my first ever solo exhibition," Bahbah said. "The show...on the 50th floor rooftop space...just happens to double as a scenic art gallery....My pieces will be open to the public through Art Week at W Miami for guests to view and purchase."
