Supports Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center

Tuesday’s Angels continues its longstanding support of the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center with over $100,000 in donations for the CDTC “Kids to Camp” program over the past ten years. Its $10,000 donation this year will assist in sending 50 children living with HIV/AIDS to Camp Hope in Houston, Texas.

This special camp provides children with the opportunity to have a fun summer experience with other children living with the disease. The campers return with stories and memories that last them their lifetimes and with a renewed resolve to face the health challenges they live with every day.

In addition, Tuesday’s Angels has provided much needed support throughout the years to CDTC’s clients living with HIV/AIDS by assisting with a variety of expenses such as utility bills, transportation, rent and mortgage assistance, funerals, eyes glasses and other basic needs.

“We are immensely grateful to Tuesday’s Angels for their steadfast support of our Comprehensive Family AIDS Program. With our community being pulled in many directions to support so many worthy causes, it is reassuring to know that Tuesday’s Angels has made our Kids to Camp drive so dear to their hearts,” said Susan Widmayer, Ph.D., executive director of CDTC.

According to Immediate Past President Chuck Nicholls, “Tuesday’s Angels takes exceptional pleasure in working with CDTC over the past decade. Our future depends on the opportunity our children are given today… In essence, we are investing in our youth. By sending the kids to summer camp we hope to expand their hopes and extend their horizons for a better tomorrow.”

Tuesday’s Angels is a not-for-profit organization that provides assistance to children and women with HIV/AIDS. 100 percent of all money received goes to people living with HIV /AIDS, many of whom are often unable to work and are frequently hospitalized. Over three hundred “angels” comprise the organization, which hosts dinner meetings on the first Tuesday of each month.
