A transgender teen who was assaulted last year has unfortunately been the victim of another attack, Local 10 reports.

Chad Sanford, 14, told the news station that she was invited to hang out with boys she thought were friends at a Pompano Beach park. When she arrived, they pushed her to the ground and kicked and punched her. The news station shared a video that was captured of the attack.

“They came behind me and jumped me,” she said, adding that the boys told her “Don’t come around me with that gay shit.”

Two of the four teens in the video were arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, according to Local 10. They are being charged with battery and a crime of prejudice.

Last year, Chad made headlines when she was attacked by schoolmates at Deerfield Beach Middle School. She said that she had been bullied all year long, but it turned physical when a classmate picked her up and slammed her on the ground. Others stood around while she was assaulted. She no longer attends the school, an experience she called “a living hell.”

Chad is not alone in her experience. Fifty-two percent of LGBTQ youth say that they have been bullied, according to the Trevor Project, and of those, 33% said they were bullied in person and 42% were bullied electronically.

A GoFundMe was created for Sanford.
