Be an LGBT mentor for a Broward high school GSA club

Are you Role Model material? Do you want to make a difference in the LGBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning) youth’s lives? SunServe’s Making it Better Program is a program designed to reach LGBTQ youth through Broward Schools GSA clubs. Mentors presence in the clubs will assist in the effort to minimize risk, raise awareness and inform.

A GSA Gay-Straight Alliance is a student run club in a high school or middle school that brings together LGBTQ and straight students to support each other provide a safe place. The clubs allow students to socialize and create a platform for activism to eliminate homophobia and transphobia and transform the school climate to one of acceptance.

Together with your involvement, we can bring knowledge and wisdom to empower today’s youth to become successful and happy individuals. It starts today and you can make that important step in enriching an LGBTQ teen’s life.

This training also will allow volunteers to assist in our youth drop in center, youth groups or educational opportunities.
