Fort Lauderdale may be a sunny place to visit, but one study says it’s one of the least safe cities to live in.
The city finished last out of 182 U.S. cities, according to a study by personal finance website WalletHub. The list measured the cities on three separate areas: protection from natural disasters, financial security and home and community safety.
Fort Lauderdale also ranked in the bottom five for most traffic fatalities per capita (147 of 151) and was tied for last place in homes without emergency savings. Notably, the city did not receive a rank for the natural disaster category, despite being in an area often hit by hurricanes.
The safest city to live in was Nashua, New Hampshire. South Burlington Vermont; Warwick, Rhode Island; Columbia, Maryland and Gilbert, Arizona rounded out the top five.
Saint Louis, San Bernardino, California; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Detroit, Michigan sat in the bottom five with Fort Lauderdale. Orlando was the only other Florida city to finish in the bottom 10, falling in at 176.
Cape Coral finished as the 22nd safest city in the list, while Pembroke Pines finished at 30th. No other Florida finished in the top 50 of the list.
