Just as they have since 1992, the LGBT community will celebrate the strength and growth of the Palm Beach County LGBT community with the annual two-day Palm Beach PrideFest celebration Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26, 2017, from noon to 6 p.m. both days at Bryant Park in downtown Lake Worth.

PrideFest of Lake Worth and the Palm Beaches is a yearly event put on by Compass, the largest LGBT community center in the Southeast U.S.

PrideFest is planning to host many local elected and appointed representatives, including the mayors and commissioners of the city of West Palm Beach and the city of Lake Worth. The presence of elected officials along with the continued support of so many attendees is planned as an important show of support for the LGBT community at a time where standing shoulder to shoulder for each others rights, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, is most vital.

More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the events throughout the two-day affair, including live performances by a variety of artists, and a parade that will feature an appearance by Grand Marshall Jazz Jennings, local trans teen, star of the hit TLC reality series “I Am Jazz,” and pillar of the LGBT community.

“We are very proud to have Jazz Jennings join us as Grand Marshal of Sunday's ‘We the People’ themed parade.” Compass Chief of Staff Ryanmarie Rice said. “Jazz will ride in the Wells Fargo stagecoach with her parents to lead the parade down Lake Ave into Bryant Park.”

“Following the Trump Administration’s move to revoke federal protections for transgender students, Jazz Jennings will lead the parade of community members committed to protecting transgender youth because ‘We the People’ means everyone.”

PrideFest brings together 140 businesses, local residents, families, and community leaders all in one place to celebrate the community’s diversity and foster support towards continued equality and justice for the LGBT community. According to Rice, there will be a plethora of amazing local talent on hand to entertain the masses.

“Local celebrities, Melissa St. John and RaeJean Cox will emcee the main stage at PrideFest this year. The acts that will be featured there include; Thea Austin, lead vocalist of Snap!; international DJ Citizen Jane; Michaela Paige; resident DJ and host on Miami's New Hits 97.3, DJ Legato; Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence; Teri Kiowa Catlin; Saskya Sky; South Florida Pride Marching Band; Voices of Pride; Velvet Lenore and Miss Palm Beach Pride Tayanna Love; Saved by the 90s of Florida, the Feeny's; and Kevin, Virginia, and Jason of the KVJ show - just to name a few.”
